Abstract: The number of notices of default filed in Deschutes County in July fell 9.5 percent from June and 6.3 percent from July 2009, according to the County Clerk’s Office website. There were 314 default notices filed last month.

The figure was down from 1,460 in June, a decrease of 6 percent and a decrease of 8 percent from one year ago. A notice of default is the official beginning of the foreclosure process.
